I grew up in Charleston, West Virginia and moved to the D.C. area to begin my career with AFS. I am the second oldest of six kids, all of whom my parents, Bob and Valerie, gave a name that begins with the letter “J”: Jordan, Jensen, Jack, Josie, John, and Jorgie. Being able to raise six children takes a lot of effort and necessitates the need to be pro-active and efficient when it comes to financial planning. My parents set an excellent example for my siblings and me when it came to working hard and being smart with money. Having younger siblings always looking up to me pushes me to ensure I am setting a good example for them too, especially financially.

I moved to the D.C. area after graduating from Edinboro University in Spring 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Personal Financial Planning. In June 2021, I officially obtained the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification. I chose the financial planning career path because I have always had an affinity for my finance classes and am naturally a people person, so when my professors encouraged me to look into the financial planning route, it felt like a perfect fit. The potential to make a major impact in someone’s life through one-on-one guidance is what appeals to me most about being a financial planner.

At Edinboro University, I was a member of the college’s NCAA Division I wrestling team all four years. Balancing my academics with being an athlete was challenging at times, but I am very thankful for the opportunities and life lessons the sport of wrestling has taught me. Outside of the office, I can be found exploring the D.C. area and spending time with my girlfriend and our dog.
