I grew up in Rochester, NY, and learned the importance of hard work and financial responsibility from a young age. My parents arrived in the U.S. as refugees from the Soviet Union; my father arriving with only $20 and little to no English. I attribute much of my passion for financial planning and investment management to the lessons my father taught me and instilled in me throughout my youth.

After experiencing the brunt of the economic downturn in Rochester, I decided to join family and move to Northern Virginia to pursue a better education and greater career opportunities. I attended George Mason University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance and an associate degree in business administration.

Prior to joining AFS in February 2021, I worked for MassMutual and provided advice on insurance and investments for clients. My move to AFS was triggered by my desire to work more with investments and tax strategies on a higher level, and I am excited to actively work with our AFS investment committee and assist our compliance department amid AFS’s recent transition to become a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).

I live in Fairfax, VA, and love the diverse eateries and friendly people that comprise the area. Outside of work and my continued professional learning, I am a proud member of the Jewish community and love trying new foods and recreating the recipes at home. I also recently picked up bouldering as a hobby and have been enjoying perfecting my technique. I am passionate about traveling and exploring the world and have a long bucket list of places I would like to visit, including the Patagonia region of Chile, Bucharest in Romania, Korea, and Japan.
